We are interested in having an assistant who can make a one year commitment to our studio.

In exchange for 12 hours of work a week, the assistant will have a 70 cu. ft private studio space and access to high fire electric, gas and wood kilns. We have two studio sales a year at which the assistant would be welcome to show and sell  work.

Responsibilities might include:

- stacking wood

-cleaning and preparing kilns

-cleaning and organizing studios

-mixing clay and glazes

-website maintenance

-packing and shipping

-help at studio sales

-loading and unloading kilns

-light construction projects

-photographing work

Both Peter and I need help at different times.  During any given week you may be working for one or both of us.

The ideal assistant doesn't need to come with knowledge of how to do all these tasks, we can train. However, we do need someone who is organized and likes to keep things organized.

It is our hope that in providing you with a space to work and different ways to fire you will be serious about progressing in your work. We are happy to set up times for critique/feedback  to help you reach your goals.

We live in a beautiful and snowy place! You need a car with 4 wheel drive or snow tires to get up our hill in winter. There is much to do if you love the outdoors. There are multiple places to cross country ski and 2 down hill slopes within 20 minutes. Lots of hiking and biking paths to choose from. We are 10 minutes from the small village of Cazenovia, approximately 30 minutes from Syracuse,  and 5 hours from New York City and Montreal.

- letter of intent outlining your long and short term goals
